Dr. Nuno Tavares Lopes is a highly accomplished medical professional with degrees in Nursing and Medicine, a Master’s in Public Health, and advanced training in Emergency Medicine. He has also completed postgraduate training in Anesthesiology and Chronic Pain, and most recently earned a Master’s in Business Administration. His expertise spans public health, emergency medicine, family medicine, and innovative leadership in digital health and artificial intelligence projects. Currently, Dr. Lopes serves as an external consultant for the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

His academic journey includes a Master’s in Business Administration, postgraduate training in Emergency Medicine, a Master’s in Public Health, an Integrated Master’s in Medicine, and a Bachelor’s in Nursing. Professionally, he holds the role of Director of Medical and Public Health Services for a U.S.-based corporation managing over 94 hospitals, where he oversees remote healthcare and emergency telemedicine support. His career also includes extensive experience in both public and private emergency departments, handling high-turnover and diverse cases, as well as serving as a physician with Portugal’s VMER (Emergency Medical Vehicle) and INEM helicopter services.

Dr. Lopes’ international work includes his consultancy roles with global health organizations and his leadership in telemedicine across multiple countries. He specializes in treating chronic and acute emergencies, chronic pain, and public health challenges, offering services such as emergency care, health system consulting, and digital health solutions. Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, he conducts consultations in these languages, ensuring accessibility for a diverse patient base.
